Our Action: Making a video

To make the video I had students write letters to Rockstar Games and then I recorded them reading their letters. Here are some samples of student letters.

We also combined our letters to create one letter which we read all together to create a powerful effect:

Dear Rockstar Games,
We are third and fourth grade students at Benjamin Franklin School in Newark. New Jersey. We want to convince you that violence in video games is not good for kids.
First of all, it is bad for brain development. Kids who play video games don't think as clearly as kids who don't play. This is because the frontal lobe stops growing. Second of all, kids become insensitive to the violent video games, they get used to seeing the violence. Finally, kids who play video games don't do as well in school because it affects their learning.
We think Rockstar games should put less violence in video games and make more fun, challenging, and educational games for kids with no violence.
Sincerely,
Students of rooms 214 & 305
Benjamin Franklin School
